Find Me On

Dylan has another web page.

A long time coming and I don't know why I built up so much pressure on myself but I finally have my professional portfolio site up. I fretted over this for too long and actually what you see here took me about 10 hours to put together. What's the deal with that? Now that I have the basics finished, I'll be adding to this site and getting it beyond the prototype status it is currently at.

I've wanted to build Mac OS X applications for a while. Here is a screenshot of an app I built following along with a lesson from Aaron Hillegass's book. Of course it bears my own icon.

And yeah

I love the iPhone but I'm kind of disappointed that I can only install applications on it through the Apple store. It seems like too much computing power to just be sitting around and not be put to use. From the day the device came out, friends and I talked about how the first thing we would want to install on it is SSH.

This just looks a lot cooler than it is. It's an older version of Ruby and it comes with at least some of the standard library. I imagine some pretty cool programs could be written using the iPhone's powerful networking capabilities and Ruby's terseness and simplicity.
